Join Seattle City Councilmembers Bruce Harrell, Mike O’Brien, and Richard Conlin; City of Seattle staff; and community groups including St. Vincent de Paul this Thursday, June 17th, to discuss public and nonprofit utility assistance programs in Seattle, as well as the current demand for and usage of utility rate assistance programs.
The meeting is a Special Joint Committee meeting of the Energy, Technology, and Seattle Public Utilities and Neighborhood Committees, chaired by Councilmembers Harrell, O’Brien, and Conlin. The meeting will take place at Chief Sealth High School, at 5959 Delridge Way SW on Thursday, June 17th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
The joint committee meeting will be divided into three segments:
5:00 – 6:00 p.m.: Information Fair – City of Seattle staff and nonprofit organizations will provide information about utility, housing, food, child care and other assistance programs.
6:00 – 7:00 p.m.: Committee Meeting – City of Seattle staff and St. Vincent de Paul representatives will discuss utility assistance programs, current trends, barriers, and future needs.
7:00 – 8:00 p.m.: Council will welcome testimony from the audience about current programs and future needs.
