Last week, the City celebrated the achievements of its student interns. The Office of Economic Development, Human Services Department, and the Personnel Dept., funded by a grant from the Seattle King County Workforce Development Council, teamed up to streamline internship processes across the City, and to help make them more robust in offering students marketable skills. What’s different? By seeing their newly learned skills in the context to career options, student interns were much more likely to make plans for attending college, and the City saved staff time by streamlining internship processes.
The Office of Economic Development was proud to have our very own intern, Roniesha Young attend the celebration. Roniesha is a recent graduate from Garfield High School and has been with our office since April of this year.
