The Greater Seattle Sector Skills Academy is a year-long fellowship program designed to help grow and support sectoral workforce development strategies in the Central Puget Sound region.
The Academy brings workforce development leaders from nonprofit organizations, community colleges, workforce investment boards, government agencies, labor-management groups and others together for facilitated meetings and offers participants mentoring, technical assistance and peer support.
Approximately 25 participants will be selected for the Academy, which will begin with a three day kick-off meeting from November 5th to November 7th, 2012 at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort near Agate Pass. Five one day meetings will happen at locations near Seattle in 2013 on January 31st, February 28th, April 25th, June 27th, and September 26th. The Academy is designed for organizational leaders who hold direct responsibility for the development and implementation of sectoral strategies.
