Seattle Summer Streets events help people imagine what life could be like if fewer people drive and more walk, bike, ride transit, play and shop locally. Everyone is invited to participate in these events.
Friday, August 13th – Greenwood Art Walk Summer Streets Party
This party will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Greenwood /Phinney Avenue from N 87th Street to N 65th Street is being closed to cars and opened up for people to play, walk, bike, shop, dance, and relax. This event is being held during the monthly Art Up Art Walk. Come out and enjoy great food, mingle with your neighbors, look at great art and support local businesses. The Gumshoe 5K starts the same day and Seattle Children’s is sponsoring a kid’s obstacle course and there will be skateboard demos with free helmet give-aways.

Saturday, August 21st – The Rainier Valley Heritage Parade and Summer Streets Party
This party will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come out and watch the Rainier Valley Heritage Parade, which begins at 11 a.m. and lasts about an hour. The entire event celebrates life in the America’s most diverse zip code of 98118. Rainier Avenue between Alaska and Brandon is being closed to cars and opened up for people to play, walk, bike, shop, dance and relax. Seattle Children’s is sponsoring a kid’s obstacle course and there will be skateboard demos with free helmet give-aways. Enjoy great food, mingle with your neighbors and support local businesses.
