The Puget Sound-area apartment market is expected to recover more rapidly than the rest of the country this year, according to a new study. According to the third quarter report by Marcus & Millichap, an expected increase in employment will fuel the sector’s recovery.
U.S. manufacturing grows for 13th straight month

U.S. manufacturing expanded in August for the 13th straight month, lifting hopes that economic growth won’t stall. The Institute for Supply Management said Wednesday its manufacturing index rose to 56.3 in August from 55.5 in July. A reading above 50 indicates growth.

Each year, the American Rights at Work Education Fund publishes its Labor Day List, a publication that highlights innovative and successful labor-management partnerships. Among this year’s honorees are Gerdling Edlen Development, which has completed projects in Seattle; and United Streetcar, whose streetcars power the South Lake Union Streetcar.
