Business advice is widely available through websites, books, and classes—but sometimes the best guidance can come from a mentor. MicroMentor.org, a free new online service from the non-profit humanitarian agency Mercy Corps, builds on this idea by connecting entrepreneurs with experienced business mentors who provide one-on-one advice.
MicroMentor.org hosts online profiles for individuals interested in being volunteer mentors, as well as entrepreneurs in search of industry-specific guidance, expertise, and support. These profiles help mentors and entrepreneurs to identify logical matches. Once connected, online correspondence is guided by MicroMentor’s web tools, typically for a period of three months.
The website itself also offers a helpful business resources page that all members and visitors can access.
