The Lions Clubs International Convention will be the largest convention in Seattle in two decades—along with the Parade of Nations, the biggest parade in Seattle history!
The parade will take place on July 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with 12,000 marchers, heading from Seattle Center toward 5th Avenue, dispersing in the retail district. Visiting attendees of the Lions Clubs International 94th International Convention will march in a welcome parade with floats and marching bands, displaying the native dress of their countries.
This large, international event will benefit Seattle in a myriad of ways. The convention will stimulate an estimated $40 million for Seattle and surrounding regions, an impact felt by hotels, meeting venues, transportation companies, retail establishments, restaurants, visitor attractions, and more. All businesses around Seattle should expect some increase in customers between July 4 and 8.
Alongside the economic benefits, Lions Clubs international will also donate hundreds of seedlings around Seattle, helping the local land to flourish.
Seattleites are encouraged to watch the parade and to welcome this incredible convention to Seattle. Please be aware of the influx of traffic, public transportation detours, parking changes, and road closures throughout the duration of the convention and particularly on the day of the parade.
