About 10,000 smallholder farms lay below the hilltop in Becha village in Ethiopia where air helpfully flows among drying beds that hold their beans. Coffee Ceremony

Join us at our Renton Location where the ceremony begins with pan roasting green (unroasted) coffee beans, which are then brewed in a clay pot known as a Jebena. You will get to hear the origins of coffee, taste one of the oldest techniques for brewing coffee, and snack on traditional treats.

Boon Boona is inspired by our founder’s travels and family ties in Eritrea. We’re helping Seattle discover the unique coffee and traditions of East Africa, where pouring a daily cup means taking time to connect.

Reimagining the industry

Beyond ethically sourcing the best beans, we’re shaping a more equitable coffee economy. We partner exclusively with African producers and exporters, send a larger share of profits to mainly women-owned growers, and open coffee lovers’ eyes to vibrant but overlooked markets.

Cultivating community

Our cafes are intentionally inclusive, serving as gathering places and welcoming venues for pop-up opportunities for artists, non-profits, and local, loved small businesses.
