Hiring the wrong person can be detrimental and costly for any employer. One way to reduce the number of bad hires is to focus on the information received from candidates’ references. When interviewing references, make sure to ask questions that will give you pertinent information. Among the types of questions to ask are: Confirming the details; always verify the candidate’s job title and dates of employment to be sure the information provided is accurate. Work Performance; confirm the claims made on candidates’ résumés, this can project how well a candidate might perform tasks at your company.
