The American economy is being reshaped along the booming industries of technology and energy, according to new rankings published by the Milken Institute. These 2013 end-of-year rankings shed light on which U.S. cities are thriving versus merely surviving. Areas of the country defined as tech hubs are providing the job, wage, and technology trends that shape current and future prospects. Seattle is ranked sixth in the nation due to the strong aerospace and tech industries, and the demand for housing, rising property values, and other related jobs created as a result of those industries.
VOTES ARE IN FOR BEST CAPITOL HILL BAR & RESTAURANT ROOKIES OF 2013
Capitol Hill Seattle asked Seattlelites to vote for their favorite new restaurants and bars from a roster of 32 neighborhood food and drink newbies. The results are in, and topping the list is Lost Lake, which is by far Seattle’s “most important” new Capitol Hill hotspot in 2013. Among others to make the list are Bakery Nouveau, Von Trapp’s, Kedai Makan, and Capitol Cider.
