AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD RESTAURANT OPENS ON PHINNEY RIDGE
Phinney Ridge’s new Thai restaurant, Mai Thaiku, is a reincarnation of Thaiku on Ballard Avenue, which closed last year when its lease ended. While the original restaurant was one of the better of many Thai restaurants in Seattle, the reborn Thaiku is something else: a risk, serving truly authentic Thai cuisine. Manager of both the old and new Thaiku, Unchalee “Oh” Ayucharoen, says “we wanted to do something different and we didn’t want to compromise… I think Seattle is ready.”
