Seattle Jobs Initiative recently released results from its study entitled “Entry-Level Job Requirements: An Assessment of Seattle-Area Employers.” The intent of this research was to clarify how employers define entry-level work; to identify and explain any differences between job requirements and actual education levels within entry-level positions; to examine how turnover is affected by education levels; and to determine how education and experience factor into employers’ hiring practices. Research results have major implications for service providers’ efforts in job placement and skills training.
