Today Mayor Mike McGinn joined Vice President Joe Biden at the White House for an announcement that the city of Seattle will receive $20 million from the U.S. Department of Energy’s “Retrofit Ramp Up” program, a competitive grant program funded through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG).

Waste Management trash haulers strike; 1 million customers will be affected

Union garbage haulers went out on strike at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, culminating a three-week standoff with their employer, Waste Management, which provides collection services to about 1 million customers in King and Snohomish counties.
